A Myiarchus flycatcher (most probably ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER) was seen
flying in from the ocean and landing on the South Jetty of the Columbia
were it did some flycatching before (apparently) continuing inland on
Saturday after the official seawatch. (And then there were the XANTUS'
MURRELETS during the seawatch already mentioned in previous posts).

Large numbers of NORTHERN PINTAIL and AMERICAN WIGEON were seen coming
in off the ocean as well. A pretty serious loon movement is happening
with all three species well represented. BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES were
in good numbers and a single COMMON TERN was seen.

FOX SPARROWS have returned for the winter and the northern races of
SAVANNA SPARROW are conspicuous in the dunes.

Those orange DRAGONFLIES have dropped off to very low numbers, but there
were still a few coming in off the jetty.
