Speaking from experience, I found the over-the-counter dramamine, etc.
uneffective. Perhaps these delay the actual act, but ...the Gray's Harbor
bar will get you everytime.

Scopalamine, the ear patch, is quite good, but it is no longer available.
The side effects were too much for most people and I can see why. I tried
driving to Westport under the influence of the earpatch and it was very
dangerous. Some pharmacies may be able to provide a goop with the active
ingredient in smaller doses. I have yet to try that route.

One non-drug had a positive effect for me, the wrist bands. These are
acu-pressure bands with knobs that press on the underside of your wrist. I
believe it helped.

Birding magazine has run articles on this topic including numerous letters
to the editor. One trick mentioned seemed like a good idea. For a few
days before the boat trip do several sommersaults and shake your upperbody
and head back, forth, and around for many minutes. Presumably this loosens
the balance hairs in your ears and prepares you for the day of rocking n'
rolling.
