Large numbers of Goldfinches are now present in pasture land along
Delphi Road in Thurston County (southwest of Olympia, Washington) too.
They are feeding in big patches of what I would have called Canadian
thistle before I looked in a plants-for-dummies book and realized that
the plants are probably Teasel, Dipsacus fullonum. I must look at these
plants more closely to be sure.
