For those of you wondering whether Fall is here,
seeing Fox Sparrows, etc., I would say from this
end of the big migration pipeline - yes.

It has become amazingly un-birdy around
Anchorage and the Kenai Peninsula within the
last two weeks. The chickadees and magpies
have the soundscape pretty much to themselves,
the mallards and goldeneyes predominate on
the water. Canada geese are still conducting
training flights (which always make my heart
"fly up"), but will be outta here within the next
month.

Sigh. Time to plan a trip to the tropics.
