Welcome! Rocky Pt. is just about the extreme southern Point of Vancouver
Island, across the Straits of Juan de Fuca from the Olympic Peninsula. The
Canadian Wildlife Service has been operating a cooperative bird banding project
there for the past several years (4 or 5 now, I think). As usual when you stick
a mistnet up, there are lots of surprises, especially re. night-migrating
passerines. For example, a species moving through in numbers was previously
thought to be only accidental on Van. I. is the N. Waterthrush.
