Hi Tweeters:

Can't help but wonder if it's time for the state legislature to
reconsider allowing cars on the beach at Long Beach. I know the locals
claim tourists like to drive on the beach (for reasons that escape me)
and the tourist businesses would suffer if beaches were closed to cars.
It seems there must also be many people (especially with children) who
would go to the beach and spend money in oceanside towns if there weren't
cars on the beach.

Is there any shot of convincing Olympia that it is time for a change? Is
the local Audubon chapter pursuing this?
