After I read Scott Downes' report...
> Today I had a juvinile male Annas Hummingbird, feeding on our fushias
...I barely had time to be envious. At 10 am, an Anna's visited our fuschia--a
new yard bird! We've spent two years at this spot and have failed to see a
hummer even when we put the feeders out in March and April. This Anna's had a
dark patch on its throat, so I was figuring it to be an adult female (are
juveniles always "bare"-throated?). Another data point for the dispersal study.
