A dreadful way to re-introduce this thread.

Just got the news on the radio that three people who were in a larger
storm-watching group were dragged into the surf and drowned by a freak wave
at Long Beach, BC this morning. A ghastly reminder to be *careful* during
ocean-side seawatches in anything but good weather.
