It was an absolutely glorious day for birding. The dominant theme around the lake today continues to be fishing. Common Loons, Common Mergansers, Western Grebes, Herring Gulls and Ring-billed Gulls were abundant. There were 16 COLO in one small area and 90 COME in another. I finally got to see something other than RBGU and HEGU; a first winter Bonaparte's Gull.
Altogether the day's census produced 35 species and a sunburn.
Cheers
