when overhead in the dark or ofg: Black-bellied Plover, Pacific
Golden-Plover, American Golden-Plover, Killdeer, Solitary Sandpiper, Spotted
Sandpiper, Long-billed Curlew, Glaucous-winged Gull. The likeliest species
by far would be Killdeer--American Pipits don't have anything that's much
like a Killdeer's call--either as a local bird heading over to the local
soccer pitch or baseball diamond or as a member of a migrant flock.
