Here the Auk is about ten times more widespread than frigatebirds.
At least six or seven Auk subscribers compared to one ugly, stuffed
frigatebird ;-) If I can't find my copy, I just walk over to the Science
Library across the street. The joys of college life. :)
I only meant to suggest that the Auk was the original source and
isn't filtered by some one else. When you depend on someones web site, you
have to have some faith that they got it correct. When you read the Auk you
are the one that has to get it right.
By the way, the Oregon Field Ornithologist has updated its check
list to reflect the changes made by the AOU in July 1997, including the
solitary vireo splits. Of course, it only lists those changes in birds that
occur in Oregon. The most recent Oregon Birds, the newsletter from OFO, has
the new checklist and an article about the changes.
If people are interested, I could summarize the changes made by the
AOU in July 1997.
