On Sept. 25, 1997, my husband, Randy Robinson, and I saw two Great
Egrets in a ditch in a field along the Bay Center Dike Road in Pacific
County.
(Bay Center is about 15 miles southwest of South Bend & Raymond. It is a
peninsula bordered on the east by the Palix River and on the west by
Willapa Bay.) We saw a single Great Egret again several times on the
27th in the same general vicinity.
Today, on the 28th, we saw a Snowy Egret standing next to a Great Egret
along the Dike Road (on the muddy shores of the Palix River). It is the
second time we have seen a Snowy Egret in Bay Center. We (and several
other observers) saw one there in April of 1993.
