Thank you Michael Price and Scott Richardson for the information about
arrival dates.

Michael: I carefully followed your comprehensive explanation of how
average dates are compiled with awe. Thanks for such an educational
answer. It seems that one would have to do it professionally, or have
the observations of many people at one's fingertips, such as being the
bird alert person for your area. Unfortunately, my other non-birding
life encroaches (what?? there's life besides birding??) and I would
prefer to have a resource already compiled.

Scott: Thanks for the information about _American Birds_ and _Western
Birds_. It sounds like neither publication is what I'm looking for, and
that I better study my WOSNews, which I have been receiving for some
time. I have enjoyed the articles immensely, but have given only casual
attention to the "fine print" at the back, the Field Notes. Now that I
know what kind of exhaustive and careful record keeping goes into the
Notes, I will appreciate Russell Rogers work more.

I hope I have supressed my natural tendency to read and round file
everything, and have kept back issues of the WOSNews. If not, are they
available through the WOS office?

Thanks again for this specific info. I always enjoy my daily time with
Tweeters.
