Rather a nice day Yesterday, with a few notable sightings:

Common Yellowthroat First of spring, nice yellow male
Brown-headed Cowbird First of spring - several M and F
Yellow-rumped Warbler Several "Myrtle's"
Brown Creeper Unusual away from the Clise Mansion
Savannah Sparrow At least 5
Rufous Hummingbird At least 3
Common Loon One out on the lake

There was only ONE Violet-green Swallow, however. Very surprising, although
it may be connected with the cooler weather we've been having. The one we
did see was hanging out with the Tree Swallows, and had unusual facial
markings, for the white did not continue over the front part of the eyes.
That is, it had the white cheek, and the white ran up behind the eye and
over the top of the eye, but it did not continue down the front-side of the
eye. The rest of the plumage was normal for VG - green back, white saddle
bags, etc. Q: Do VG and Tree Swallows hybridize?
