Today, for the third time in 2 weeks, I saw a SCRUB JAY in the area
surrounding the intersection of I90 and I405. I first spotted the bird
on 3/22 in the weeping willow tree on the west edge of Lake Washington
Blvd just after it passes to the north of I90 (this tree also has a
beautiful active bushtit nest hanging just above the trail that runs
along the street). I saw the bird again on 3/28 in the company (being
harassed by?) of several Stellers Jays in trees in the apartment complex
across the street from the willow. Today I saw the bird as I was
driving south on 405 just past the I90 overpass. As I don't like 70 mph
positive ID's on unusual birds I exited the freeway and went to the area
where the bird had flown, successfully locating him near the tanning
parlor :-) at the NW corner of the Factoria area.
