Another weekend, and another slew of obstacles to keep us from
birding. (On a brighter note, many of our 500 or so cacti are
flowering, including some we've never seen flower before.)

For some token birding, we went up to the UI dairy's ponds behind the
mall. The rain was pouring down, the wind had it nearly horizontal
while we were there, but we did see 1 male Greater Scaup, 5 pairs of
Green-winged Teal, 1 pair of N. Shovelers, and lots of Mallards. Of
course, songbirds were laying low, and there may have been more ducks
under the trees, but I was happy to see the shovelers and teal, both
for the first time in Idaho.
