Hi Tweets,

Highlights of the Sunday birdcount in the Squamish river estuary (1hour N
of Squanish) were a juvenile Golden Eagle (3rd record) and a Long-billed
Curlew (1st record). Light rain dampened the species number to 50; in
other years, it was up to 65.

The bird which got away: I was standing 100m from the end of the jetty
into Howe Sound, and I saw this small bird flying towards me, only 20-50cm
above ground, white-black (grey?) on the back, uttering small birdcalls on
its way. I couldn't relocate it again, but I wondered whether I missed a
Snow Bunting... Incidentally, another one was seen 2 days ago on Iona
Jetty. Same habitat...
