At McChord AFB I banded over 150 individuals between 11/96 and 8/97. To
put that number into perspective, there were only two other species in
which I banded greater numbers, Pine Siskin at about 170 and Oregon Juncos
at about 380. I don't have any notion if that is up or down in relation to
the years previous or not, but is seems to be one of our most common
nesting birds there.
