Good Morning Tweets -

For those of you who might not have heard, there have been two visits
recently - one on Wednesday and one on Thursday - to Bell and Stewart's
nest box on the 56th floor of the Washington Mutual Tower by the
surviving female from last years family.

The first visit, Bell was on the nestbox. She looked around, started
vocalizing, and at the same time the head of another Peregrine could be
seen on the light bar next to the nestbox. Bell stood, jumped down out
of the box, and the immature female hopped onto the box. The young one
stood there for about 12 seconds looking down at the eggs, with Bell not
in sight, and then left. Bell then came back into the box.

The second visit, Stewart was on the nestbox. A completely different
reaction - he looked around, hunkered down, the young female arrived and
stood over him. She was close enough to be standing on his tail. Stewart
had his head feathers tightly compressed against his head, and after a
short interval he began to stand up, vocalizing all the time. The young
female then left, and Stewart settled back down.

Review of yesterday's 24 hour tape this morning did not show any visits
by the young female during the last 24 hours. It will be interesting to
follow this activity and see if it continues.

The young female is still in brown plumage with prominent vertical
streaks down her sides. It appears that she may be molting on the head.
She is distinctly smaller than Bell, more close in size to Stewart.
