Birders: On April 11 we found a dark phase SWAINSONS HAWK on
Snively Road near West Richland (1st for year). At the Yakima Delta,
from one spot we found 6 Swallow species. Cliff, Tree, Violet-Green,
Barn, Rough-winged & Bank. Cliff were common with only one or two
of the rest. Also at the delta were 12 CASPIAN TERNS, 30 AM
AVOCETS, 6 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 3 CINNAMON TEAL, many
GREEN-WG TEAL & N. SHOVELORS.

North of Richland the FERRUGINEOUS HAWKS were nesting again.
The female is on the nest & the DARK PHASE male was nearby.

OSPREY are nesting in at least two locations including on McNary
Dam, Washington side.

YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS have returned to a small Richland
marsh near the Yakima River Delta.

50 WHITE PELICANS are on the Umatilla NWR. Nesting??
An adult BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT HERON was also on the NWR.

The HARRIS' SPARROW was relocated today at Two Rivers Park in
Finley. Seen by BW.

Two ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS are still SW of Kennewick.
Not bad for a windy day. No Swifts in the Vernita Bridge area yet.

Good Birding,
