Irene,

I've found dozens of bushtit nests through the years, and would
guesstimate that 90% of them are at or below my eye level (I'm only 5'
11") - often in areas that you'd think would be pretty disturbed around
lawns, kids, etc. This statistic on nest height might be somewhat biased,
since I'd figure that I look down or forward more often than I look up.

I have had a group of bushtits in the yard for the past few years, but
assume that they must be nesting in a neighbor's yard, since I've not
found the nest on our acre...
