My wife and I are coming to Washington in August - september. I'm a
fanatical birder and my wife is a keen writer. She has a special interest
in dialogue in short stories, plays, screen-plays with publications in
various magazines and books and her work used by the BBC. She is keen to
make contact with any other writers while she's out there.
We plan to be in Seattle for 5 days [while I work on seeing Hutton's Vireo
which I missed last time] and we'll probably have one day east of the
Cascades while I try and clean up a few other birds I either missed out on
or only saw briefly [western bluebird, calliope hummer, brewers sparrow,
poorwill, flammulated owl, lewis's and white-headed woodpeckers]. We'll
then move to Ocean Shores for about 10 days so I can find some vagrant
siberian shorebirds!!!
If there is someone out there who's a keen birder, who has a writing
spouse, who has a day free in late august, who can take me to see my 'most
wanted' birds, you could make me very happy!
If you happen to have two good-looking sons in the 17-21 age range you'
probably make my two daughters happy as well.
Here's hoping
Colin
