Good morning,

Just a note to pass on that last night, early evening right after the big
thunderstorms passed through, I had the pleasure to watch 4 RED-BREASTED
SAPSUCKERS having a grand time in the Western Red Cedar trees outside our
dining room windows. My home is about a mile south up the hill from Fall
City, WA. First there was one, then five minutes later two more flew in to
the same tree, with all three of them going around and around it together.
Finally, a bit later, a fourth individual was seen about 50' away in another
grove of cedars. They entertained us for at least 20 minutes. I've never
seen more than one at a time up until last night.

One other note: saw a total of 17 GREAT-BLUE HERONS at the rookery site
just east of Carnation Farms along the river in the cottonwood trees --- a
beautiful site on the way to work this morning.

Cheers,
Alan L. Bauer
