I think this spring may be noted more for its schizophrenic arrival times than
anything else. A cowbird was seen here today - a good 3 weeks ahead of
schedule. And a Purple Finch has already made its way as far north as
Mackenzie, a two hour drive north of Prince George, although none have been
seen around these parts. On the other hand, swallows are late with only scout
singles being seen; same for Yellow-rumped Warblers and Ruby-crowned Kinglets.

Nights are starting to warm up now so should be an increase in migrants next
few days.
