Late afternoon 04-14-98, about 5:30PM, a flock of approximately 50 BRANT
geese were flying north just off shore. They were spotted as they cleared
the fishing pier and were heading along the Des Moines Creek Beach Park.
We've also had temporary increases in goldeneye ducks, especially
Barrow's, with a lot of courtship behavior as they swim and feed in the
shallows. There remain a number of Horned grebes, most in alternate
dress.
