I finally saw my first SWAINSON'S HAWK of the year. On Wednesday,
April 15, 1998, a lone bird was soaring over the road between Albion and the
Palouse Highway. My husband also saw one flying over downtown Pullman the
same day. I didn't see any today, however.

A single BANK SWALLOW was also flying over a dirt bank just outside
of Albion.

Still no hummingbirds or Barn Swallows in the Palouse.
