I saw five turkey vultures this evening working their way back though the
valley to the hills north of me. Yesterday was so beautiful I snuck off to
the Nisqually Reach Nature Center hoping to catch another glimpse of a
common loon I had spotted Saturday. No loon, but at least 7 immature bald
eagles and a mature one were there, as many as five all sitting on a log or
something similar in the water. As we were leaving, we watched three gulls
harrasing one of the eagles. The previous Saturday, we had quite a show
watching an eagle harassing a gull back and forth.
