The BIG bird of the day is the Brant goose. I saw between 50 & 60
flying and landing along the private beach below the Normandy Park bluff
just north of the Marina/Beach Park area. The were swimming and feeding
just off shore. I didn't see any that were banded (a scope would have
been better for this kind of viewing.) Perhaps a different bunch of geese
from the ones I reported on Tues?, or rather, a few days ago.

There were also a small scattering of Surf scoters, American wigeon, and
two pairs of Gadwall ducks. I saw one swallow (a Tree or Violet-green)
flying over; we do not yet have our locally nesting swallow (both
Violet-green and Barn) populations . A gambelii White-crowned sparrow was
singing at the entrance to the condo complex where I live.

Waiting to count the Barn swallows, whenever they arrive, that will nest
under the public boat launch at the Marina,

and cheers,
