I have information on the Bear River NWR on my web page, and also
in the May issue of WildBird magazine.

Weather has been a bit cold there so far this spring, with snow
as recently as last week. My secret agent who lives in Brigham
City has informed me that Western and Clarke's grebes are showing
up and beginning to court, and eared grebes have been passing
through. The year's first young red fox have been showing up
near their dens.

There's water up on the road into the refuge, but this changes so
rapidly (up as well as down) that I'd call the refuge HQ for
info before leaving.
