Patty Pollari called in several sightings which I'll give together. All
occurred in her West Richland yard: a male CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD on April
16, a GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW on April 17, a LINCOLN'S SPARROW on April 20,
a RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD and a HOUSE WREN on April 21 and a NASHVILLE WARBLER
on April 22.

Dennis Rockwell reported a female RED-BREASTED MERGANSER on the Columbia
River off Two Rivers County Park on April 16 and on that same day a PINE
SISKIN appeared at my feeder. (Bob Woodley)

Phil Bartley, birding on Bateman Island on April 17, discovered a 2nd
LONG-EARED OWL, a COOPER'S HAWK, a VARIED THRUSH and the 3 "MYRTLE"
YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS reported in the last alert.

Also on April 17, Ron and Carole Louderback found an AMERICAN BITTERN in
the pond along Humorist Road on the McNary NWR.

Craig Corder and Judy Stevens observed a CLARK'S GREBE on the Yakima Delta
on April 18. That same day a LINCOLN'S SPARROW joined the White-crowned
Sparrows at my feeder.

On April 19, Bill and Nancy LaFramboise found Black-necked Stilts, American
Avocets and a GREATER YELLOWLEGS on the ponds along Bunn Road near Prosser
and noted a TURKEY VULTURE overhead. The also saw a female HOODED
MERGANSER on the pond along Rothrock Road and a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK along
Sharp Road. See DeLorme Atlas page 38 for these locations.

On Aril 20, Phil Bartley reported 2 LINCOLN'S SPARROWS in his Kennewick
yard from April 17-20.

Also on the 20th, I found 3 FORSTER'S TERNS on the Yakima Delta and the
following day saw a pair of WESTERN KINGBIRDS in Groves Park in Richland.

Nancy LaFramboise and I birded WE Johnson Park on April 22 where we
observed a BARN OWL, 2 ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS and a male TOWNSEND'S
WARBLER. And today (4/23) on the Yakima Delta we again found the CLARK'S
GREBE and 8 BLACK-NECKED STILTS, while on Bateman Island we saw a
LONG-EARED OWL, HOUSE WREN, and a LINCOLN'S SPARROW among other species.

To report your own sightings, please give your name, phone number and
