I work down in the upper Kent valley and yesterday rounded up over 85 people
to clean up over 600 pounds of garbage out of wetlands area across from where
I work. I have been very interested in getting a group to set up cleaning
days, monitoring and bird house erecting. But I am not well educated on the
finer arts of what to monitor, how, what are the invasive species to remove
and what birds should be supported by the efforts. (what kind of houses to
build and erect)
It's been many years overdue and I'm hoping that these lands that were
contracted in trade for building can be saved and refuged before contract
elapses.
Over the years a glimpse of the species noted here have been everything from
Coyote, Barn Owls, Snowy Owls, Common Yellowthroat, Killdeer, Ringnecked
Pheasants, Redwinged Blackbirds, Redtails (a pair) nest in the area...Marsh
Hawks (beautiful, ghost like)Northern Shovelers, Mallards, Canadian Geese,
Chickadees, etc,.
Need help from someone who can get us kick started and show us where and how
to find out acreage and get county involved to see if this area can be saved
permanently...Due to the Fragile environment and my leeriness of the internet
