Tweeters - A brief trip out to the Wenas area - mostly to see the astronomical
conjunction - definitely proved spring migration is well under way. Hundreds
of WC Sparrows out in the shrub-steppe, House Wrens vocalizing in many
locations, and my first Western Kingbird of the year. There are two young in
the GH Owl nest in the first Ponderosa grove along Umtanum Road heading toward
Wenas from Ellensburg (in the deciduous trees, not the conifers). And plenty
of Rattlers in the Umtanum Creek drainage (we saw 3). Great wildflowers, too.
