These are my most recent arrivals: (my feeders are located in Albion, about
8 miles northwest of Pullman)

RUFUS HUMMINGBIRD: one male visited my feeder on Wednesday evening but I
didn't see him on Thursday (I haven't been home to look for him on Friday).

BROWN-HEADED COWBIRD: One male visited the tree where my feeders are
hanging. He didn't didn't stay for very long. I haven't seen any around
the livestock.

PURPLE FINCH: I had one female at my feeder briefly on Thursday. I'm
pretty sure it is a Purple but I could use some identification help (see
next post). This is the third year I have seen a finch with the same
markings at my feeders. If she holds true to form, she will hang around for
about two weeks, staying away when my camera is ready and appearing when my
camera is put away. I still haven't taken a decent, identifiable picture of
her.


Nest update: The MOURNING DOVE pair nesting in the cedars across the street
fledged two young Thursday morning.
