the South Jetty of the Columbia River, Clatsop Co., OR

Wind SW 5-10; Temp 50F
Method: 30 min (timed) station count 100m west of "3 rocks" on
top of SJCR using 20x60 Bushnell spotting scope and 8x50 Bushnell
binoculars. Birds were sorted as to flyby, sitting on beach, sitting
on ocean or sitting on river.

Notes: A steady stream of PACIFIC LOONS was heading north at an average
of 42 birds/minute. BONAPART'S GULLS were also flying north at a steady
rate. 5 BROWN PELICANS can by in a group at about 10 minutes into the
count. There weren't many birds sitting on the ocean (or at least visible
on the ocean).
