Hi Tweets,

Up to the UBC campus yesterday for a couple of things, and stopped in
briefly at Cecil Green Park at the end of Cecil Green Blvd, and the forest
behind the Museum of Anthropolgy. Very quiet, only residents singing, no
songbird migrants whatever, though a male CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD Stellula
calliope was nosing around in the vegetation along the bluff edge directly
behind the Anthrop Museum.

Only one eagle at the NW Marine Drive eyrie, the female, and while she
seemed observant--at one point chivvying off an immature--there seemed to be
no activity at the nest itself.

Anyone wanting an easy look at and listen to Northern Rough-winged Swallows
Stelgidopteryx serripennis need only go to the huge old house at the end of
Cecil Green Blvd; several nesting pairs have returned to their nest-sites
there in the last few days. No swifts yet.

And a big green parakeet (Psittacula sp?) of some kind went over the Anthrop
Museum screaming its head off in what I'm sure it was pleased to think was
lusty spring song.
