Thanks to everyone who posted and sent me advice on dealing with the starlings. I ended up removing the front board of the Flicker box, essentially converting it into a large Robin's nook. I am not sure if I did it in time as I did not see anything but the male nuthatch tooting in a nearby tree this morning. When I was up on the ladder defacing the flicker box, I took a quick peek in the nuthatch box and saw a completed cedar bark nest.

I am hopeful that the Nuthatches will still nest there and that they are now just waiting for the female to begin laying her eggs.
