Tweeters,
I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming
responses to my post earlier this morning
regarding the backyard variety of this here hobby.
I will indeed keep tuned.
I'll jump right in with a starling question: I've
found if I offer only limited amounts of
seeds/nuts EARLY in the morning the more
desirables have a chance to get to them before the
starlings "get up". I've noticed a really nice
flicker around the apple tree not apparently
interested. Is there something I can entice this
fellow with, that I can leave out, that won't
encourage starlings? I'm thinking more for this
winter I think also, but I'd sure like to keep him
interested til then. I'm guessing the starling
problem gets addressed ad nauseum on this list
once or twice a year...I promise to check the
archives before my next question.
Thanks everyone !! Kevin North Seattle
