I'm a backyard birder, too, and I'm sure we're not the only two on Tweeters.
In my opinion, this is THE list to be on.

I joined only because I wanted to know why a crow around my neighborhood was
wearing leg bands. I stayed because there was so much I could learn and
because I enjoyed listening to intelligent, spirited folks discussing subjects
dear to their hearts. (Okay, to be completely truthful, I also delete a few
without reading.)

So far, I've posted three "backyard" questions, and each was answered
thoroughly and thoughtfully. I don't think I would enjoy a list on which no
one knew much more than I did.
