We have had an unusually large number of female and immature Rufous
Hummingbirds in our yard this year as have our neighbours. This last week to
ten days the numbers seem to be tapering off very noticeably. Other years it
seems the beginning of August something tells them it is time to move too.
Has anyone out there with feeders noticed a difference.?
We had the Xantus' hummingbird in our garden until sometime in April when
it moved about 1000 feet up the hill to a neighbours yard where it still
hangs out. It will be interesting to see if it stays around.
