Subject: Scrub Jay & flickers

This is probably way too late to do any good, but my brother saw a Scrub
Jay at Scriber Lake in Lynwood two weeks ago. I walked around the lake
yesterday - no Jays, but there sure were a mess of dragonflies. I saw an
eight spotted skimmer - I think.

This morning as I was walking through Salmon Bay Park in Ballard I heard
a loud continuous two syllable call, I felt fortunate to spy a Northern
Flicker sticking its head out of a 3 inch hole about 30 feet up in a
deciduous tree. No sign of red on the head or neck...
