There are two known Peregrine Falcon nesting sites in Thurston and
Lewis Counties, both are in Lewis County on Gifford Pinchot National
Forest land. So, Winlock is a long way from any known nest sites.
If Mr. Baker's Peregrine Falcon was a Peale's Peregrine, it would be
a coastal nester rather than interior nester so it may have been
a bird engaged in a lengthy post-breeding season movement.

I would not consider Winlock as a place to expect to see Peregrine
Falcons on a regular basis but, as their numbers grow, they are
being seen in more varied habitats and locations. For me it's always
a pleasure to see one.
