Greetings,
I am the Wildlife Management Coordinator for the Portland International
Airport, and have been baby-sitting a large, white stork living on our
airfield for the past 8 days. It has been positively ID'd by a dozen
birders in Oregon. It was suggested that it may be an escapee from
somewhere in the area. It has green bands on both legs above the knees.
If anyone has information on where this bird may have escaped from or who
would be interested in capturing and relocating it for us, please give me a
call at (503) 460-4179. As much as we love having it here, I am afraid it
will get in the way of an aircraft or vehicle and get hurt.
Thanks,
Sharon Gordon
