Subject: White Stork at Airport (fwd)

A WHite STork has been hanging around the Portland airport. This bird ahs
a green band on each leg. Below is a message from the Wildlife
Coordinator at the airport. Please provide any info that you can--the
bird is generally feeding far closer to the runway than the Great Blue
Herons due, and thus may meet an untimely demise, but either engine or
other means.

There is some suspicion that this bird came from Seattle due to the
reports up there, so I'm passing this call for help along.

Please respond to the address for Sharon Gordon below, not to me as I
will be out of the office Aug. 24-31.

Subject: White Stork at Airport

Hello,

I am the wildlife management coordinator for the airport, and have been
babysitting the white stork that has been at PDX for the last 7 days. I
noticed that the OBOL group has noticed him (her?) also.

This is a plea for anyone who may have contact with the people in Puget
Sound from whose farm he may have escaped from to help me get in contact
with him. As much as we love having him at the airport to look at, I fear
he may get too close to the aircraft and vehicles out here and get hurt.

Anyone who has information about who may be interested in helping us move
this bird from the airport can call me at (503) 460-4179.

Thanks for your help!
