Birders,
Nothing great found by us in Benton County today. Passerine numbers were
way down from last week. A "WESTERN" FLYCATCHER & a RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH
in Prosser were probably the best finds. A probable SANDERLING was at the
Yakima Delta, but too far away to be positive. We could not relocate the
RED-NECKED GREBE found by Bob Woodley yesterday at the Yakima mouth. Nor
could we find the CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER found by Phil Bartley on Bateman
Island on 08/20.
At the Yakima Delta were:
2 GREAT EGRETS
500 WESTERN SANDPIPERS
1 only LEAST SANDPIPER
15 DOWITCHERS sp
6 GREATER YELLOWLEGS
NO BAIRDS or PECTORAL or STILT SP
A probable migrant YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT was on the Umatilla NWR.
(At least it didn't nest there.)

Crow Butte was mostly birdless with only 1 WILSON'S WARBLER & 6 WARBLING
VIREOS. What a difference a week makes!

Good Birding,
Craig
