Tweeters,
Saturday evening's Protection Island Cruise (offered by the Port Townsend
Marine Science Center) resulted in sightings of approx. 12 Tufted Puffins

flying into their nests on the south cliff face. This was the greatest
number we've spotted on this series of trips this summer.

The weather & lighting on this trip were outstanding & we remained at
Protection Island until the end of the useable light. The mix of
passengers from Boston, New Jersey, Boise & Scotland, as well as western
Washington, with their different birding experiences & observations,
contributed to one great trip.

Remaining Sunset birding cruises are scheduled for Saturday, August 29th &
Saturday, Sept. 5th

Please contact the PTMSC should you wish to make a reservation.
