Tweets,

I was at Frye Cove Park (Thurston Co.) this afternoon, and saw this
interesting bird out on the Sound. It was keeping close company with a
couple of pigeon guillemots; smaller than the guillemots by about a
quarter, dark above and white beneath, with white on the underside of the
neck. There seemed to be some markings on the back, but it was far enough
out that distinguishing details wasn't possible. Is there any possibility
of a marbled murrelet being in this part of the Sound?

Also seen:
3 loon sp.
2 red-necked grebes
1 horned grebe
3 spotted sandpipers
2 immature pileated woodpeckers, 1 male and 1 female
