Columbia Estuary Report - 8/24/98

There were two very young YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS (young
enough not to have yellow rumps) flitting around in the
parking lot at SJCR on 8/22.

Two COMMON SNIPE have been hanging out at the little pond
just west of Battery Russell on the road out to the SJCR.
Also there were 6 LEAST SANDPIPERS, a GREATER YELLOWLEGS
and some very young WOOD DUCKS.

Shorebird counts (are numbers this unimpressive everywhere?:
