Tweeters,

Andy Stepniewski and I drove to Ocean Shores and Tokeland yesterday, Sunday.
The tide was not favorable while we were in Ocean Shores but it was quite
high by the time we got to Tokeland.

On the jetty at the Tokeland marina was a large flock of godwits, Whimbrels,
Willets and Short-billed Dowitchers. After a close examination of the
godwits we were able to spot two Bar-tailed Godwits among well over 200
Marbled Godwits. Andy will hopefully submit a more detailed report. Several
times all of the birds took off and flew for several minutes before landing
on the end of the jetty again. It was indeep a spectacle to see the close
to 400 birds in flight. Try as we might, we could not pick out the
Bar-taileds from the Marbled Godwits while they were flying though the
Willets stood out quite well.

On the jetty:

Bar-tailed Godwit - 2
Marbled Godwit - 200+
Whimbrel - 10
Willet - 6-8
Short-billed Dowitcher - 100+
Wandering Tattler - 1
Dunlin - 1
