Ruth,
I so enjoy your posts and the diligence you exercise in ID'ing and
documenting and photographing what you see. With some of your expert
field skills now addressing dragonflies, I would not be surprised if you
discover new species. With heretofore unknown species of birds (some as
large as a parrot!!!) still being found, despite centuries of intense
study, there must be dozens and dozens of species of dragonflies yet
undescribed or named.

I collected dragonflies as a kid, and had my bedroom walls covered with
the mounted specimens. My parents and sister were not happy when ant
convoys were reaping the bounty of my prized collection. After that, I
sorta spent more time observing the living ones; dead bugs, no matter how
pretty, were no longer allowed on the wall. My very favorite species was
medium-sized with black wings having vertical white bars. I just don't
recall its name, have to look it up. Such good memories and so long ago
(near 40 years!) as a young, totally looney adolescent....with a homemade
dragonfly net.

Cheers and cheers,
