This appears to have been a good year for Wild Turkeys in eastern
Washington. In the Selkirk mountains of northeastern Washington, I had seen
only one Wild Turkey in four previous summers; it was right along the Pend
Oreille River between Cusick and Tiger. This year, I had three separate
sitings including six adults in the Rocky Creek area, a lone bird along
Tacoma Creek Road, and three adult femals hearding a group of about 12
half-grown young also on Tacoma Creek Road.
I am not familiar with the Touchet River area and its habitat or of
turkey records for the area. I have not seen them in the Palouse around
Pullman but the habitat around here is hardly bird friendly
